One of my career goals is to open my own practice someday. To do this I need to be familiar with different types of curriculum. This is one curriculum I found that impressed me. The website is very user friendly. The mission and goals align with my own philosophies. There is also a section that aligns the curriculum to state standards (which is VERY important), tracks progress and a family connections section. Check it out!

"Now, today, some children are enrolled in excellent programs. Some children are enrolled in mediocre programs. And some are wasting away their most formative years in bad programs....That's why I'm issuing a challenge to our states: Develop a cutting-edge plan to raise the quality of your early learning programs; show us how you'll work to ensure that children are better prepared for success by the time they enter kindergarten. If you do, we will support you with an Early Learning Challenge Grant that I call on Congress to enact."

Amber,
ReplyDeleteWow, thanks for the great websites. I too would like to start my own program some day and these websites look like great tools to use. I especially liked the Child and Family Web Guide. This website provided so many other links to important early childhood programs and resources. I will definitely be using these in the future, so thanks for helping me out!
Amber,
ReplyDeleteThe Child and Family Web guide was really helpful. I found some informative articles on it. I enjoyed reading the Article about Developmental Milestones and Bullying. The advices provided regarding how to prevent bullying and what we need to teach our children if they are being bullied were quite helpful. I highly recommend this website and will refer to it for more articles. Thanks a lot for your post.
Amber,
ReplyDeleteI too am interested in starting my own childcare center and the resources that you provided for us will definitely be important when getting everything in place to open my center. I was so excited to see all the different articles that the websites provided. Once again thanks and good luck in the future.
Amber, what a great resource! I just recently interviewed for a director position where I have to establish a pre-school from scratch; licensing, furnishing, staff , schedule and curriculum development, the whole thing, and I checked out your resource and found the High Reach curriculum very interesting. Thank you for sharing.
