Professional Contacts

I spent a lot of time this week looking at different websites and learning about different organizations. I finally decided to contact partners' from the Global Alliance in Spain and South Africa. I am still waiting to here back from these contacts. I also have some friends who are in the military and live in other countries and may reach out to those people if I don't hear back.

I also spent some time looking at the different organizations to learn about each week. I decided on organization Save the Children. As I read about what they do and stand for their mission really stood out to me and I wanted to learn more about them. They have a newsletters and free email updates which I will subscribe to.

I look forward learning about early childhood outside of the United States throughout the course of this class.

  1. Dear Amber,
Thank you for your post on Professional contacts. I will join your blog and my colleagues blogs as well. I especially liked that you choose "Save the Children" it is a great organization. I also liked that you chose Spain and South Africa. Please view my blog because I chose Africa as well, but decided on Israel because of my Jewish background. Please enjoy your journey~love your blog!

I am familiar with some of the organizations from my other classes. Struggling through the new Walden set up has become a burden for me so what I am doing now is going though each of my Group 2 blog link post and "Joining their sites", please be patient with me as we both tread this journey. nancy

  2. Hi Amber... Many of us are finding it a challenge to reach-out to individuals outside of the United States. I actually tried to contact specific early childhood coalitions, but I have not received an answer. I'm totally convinced that my mail is going to SPAM, because the one response that I did receive was in my SPAM folder. I'm not giving up yet...
I have heard some things about Save the Children, but I don't know specifics. I'm am looking forward to learning more. Thanks for sharing!

  4. Amber,

Save the children is a great organization indeed. It is one of the oldest organizations as well. Growing up, I must have heard that name a thousand times. I look forward to reading your blog and finding out about the organization’s latest projects around the world.

  5. Thanks, Amber for that great ideal. I too have friends in other parts of the world that may be able to help me contact teacher from the schools their children attend. I chose Africa too and I hope I will be able to contact an Educator there. I would love to learn more than what I see of the television about the schools and children living both in and out of poverty areas.
